Torrents and such

Aren't they just great?

Sure, it may take a while to find the best with the best seeds but after that they're so useful! :3

What are your favourite torrenting programs? And any torrenting tips?

I don't download stuff anymore. It's too much bother.

I do because I like testing out things that my computer wasn't designed for.

My computer wasn't designed to turn on. It restarts itself from time to time.

I never used to buy music, seemed expensive to go and buy an album to find out i only liked one or two songs on it, so they're a good way to find stuff I like. And yeah, I'd play more PC games, but I'm never sure if my computer will take it - downloading it to see if it'll work can be handy - though I haven't actually downloaded anything in ages. I don't know if it's the hassle or what, really.

I use it to download anime.
Usually 200kb so it's great.

What?

320kbs torrents and above are better quality than CDs. Lossless audio is far superior though, it's perfect.

I haven't tried torrenting myself. I wonder why, anyway, because I'm anti-capitalist.

uTorrent = Program
thepiratebay.org = website to download torrent
seeds = people who upload the data the torrent "links" to

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to this sort of stuff too, but I think seeds are people offering a copy of the file you're downloading, and the more there are the quicker the download will be, and peers are other people downloading. That's how I've come to understand it all at least. Probably wrong.

I just google whatever I'm looking for, and write 'torrent' after it - gives loads of sites.

Oh no you are not

Torrents are useful, but they are so slow. i tied to download an album once using torrents and it took over a whole week to fully download. As you can probably guess, I find them too slow to use them all of the time.

True, though it depends torrent site / seed amount / server / public/private domain

That said filesharing sites (Rapidshare, Megaupload, Megashares <my fave>, etc) are better as they are far more consistent.
